Ronald Edward White, 76, died on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Ron was born on March 13, 1947 in Caldwell County, Commonwealth, KY to Edith Morene Fike and James Robert White. He was a graduate of Western International High School in Detroit, MI and earned his associate degree from the University of New York State. 

Ron retired as a Chief Warrant Officer from the U.S. Army as an Electronic System Analyst. He heroically served three tours in Vietnam and spent time in Germany, Korea, and Thailand. After settling in civilian life, Ron retired as a Senior Maintenance Technician with the City of Savannah.

Ron was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Army Commendation Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, and a National Defense Medal -Sharp Shooter. He was an advanced Non-Commissioned Officer. He was a member of American Legion, Post 36, and Savannah Moose Lodge 1550.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Meeks White.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Griffin (Wayne Barton) of Savannah and Keri Beemer (Andrew) of Iowa; a son, Jimmy R. Cowart (Susan) of Savannah; grandchildren, Melina Turner (Randy) of Tennessee, Selena Santiago (Daniel) Tampa, Florida, Danielle Cowart Shuler (Michael), Robert Allen Cowart, and grandsons, Wyatt and Wesley Losh.  Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Austin and Brianna Turner, Eloise and Gabriella Santiago, Logan Morris, and Natalie Shuler; a brother, David White (Charlotte); sisters-in-laws, RosaMae Reed, Hazel Crist, and Janice McArthur, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many great friends. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Graveside service will be at 12:00 p.m, on Monday, July 3, 2023, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
